Maintenance, minor repairs and cleaning are: key to safe and enjoyable sailing; as much part of sailing as sailing itself; and the responsibility of all club members.
By undertaking much of the maintenance work ourselves, we can continue to enjoy exceptional low annual membership fees.
If you are not experienced with maintenance or do not know exactly how to do, do not worry, help is available!

We normally use the minimum diameter of ropes and take SUI 46º16's advice on qualityThe forestay and outer shrouds should be under tension even in strong winds. The inner shrouds may have considerably less tension.
The mast should be straight when looking along the centreline of the boat, but generally have pre-bend when looking from the side. Too little tension is more dangerous than too much.
If you have any concerns about the rig tensioning, you should contact the boat's maintenance coordinator, and Tim Huckstep to agree a time when you can meet with one or both of them to check the tension of the rig.
Tim Huckstep is the guardian of the club's rig tension gauges which are essential for adjusting the tension of the rig; Tim can also help with interpreting the following documents:
You should not attempt to adjust the tension yourself.
The members who are authorized to operate the crane in Port-Choiseul for the YCC boats are:
If you have to buy any fittings or incur any other maintenance costs, you can ask for reimbursement by filling out and submitting the required form
If the parts to be ordered for the repair are more expensive than 200 CHF, please ask the maintenance coordinators for approval in advance
