YCC offer the unique opportunity to YCC Skippers (members holding a key), to reserve a boat themself in pre-defined slots for free, and sail with other people, even if not members of the club. Note that the same boat icon in the left navigational menu, goes to this page, the line below the boat, goes directly to the reservation table!

Before sailing, always check the current meteo alerts in the link above, and always wear life jacket with water temperature less than 10 degrees . On the left (under the menu) current wind graph and the gusts (red). The live weather status report is available from Geneve Airport LSGG in Metar format, wind-direction and wind speed is the K parameter. Not so easy to read, but it is the most updated and reliable you can get on a website. If you are planning a navigation, plan your sailing using this online batimetrical map by Navionics.
Most updated METAR with precise wind and direction measurement, are broadcasted from Geneve Airport on:There are many wind forecast model available on the web and for mobile application, after year of observations, we have notice that WindFinder models are very accurate for our sailing activity, and to get the current status of the wind, the stations of Plage du Vengeron that is around 3.5 miles from Port Choiseul. It also shows Sunrise and Sunset, useful to plan your activity.
Another option is the Windy app which provides many different models for wind speed and gusts and a handy graphical wheel wind.
During private outings, Skipper have to follow the rules of the club, available in the documentation page.
Reservations rules apply to each category independently. Categories are:
Dinghy, Catamaran, Yngling, Keelboats (Surprise, J80 an J70) and GibSea.
Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance.
Only members in possession of the relative YCC license (key) can reserve
a boat.
Reservations can be cancelled if the boat is not checked out in Versoix in a timely manner (15 min of delay max).
During the sailing courses season (May-June) it may happen that a
boat reserved for the courses is suddenly out of order. In such a
situation you may be asked by the person giving the course to give-up
your reservation for a boat of the same category in favour of the
course.
