YCC members enjoy an enthusiastic and busy regatta scene with events to suit all levels of racing experience.
We organise our own Internal regattas, which are social and a good introduction to racing. Our members also participate in External club and league races across Switzerland.
YCC members receive email invitations throughout the season to participate in YCC Internal Regattas which are held in Port Choiseul. Racing is open to dinghies, catamarans and keelboats and all levels of racing experience are welcome. Please read the YCC Internal Regatta Rules.

This season, YCC will organize some regatta training sessions for members. These sessions are aimed at intermediate and advanced sailors to improve and practice their technique, boat handling skills and application of the rules in regatta settings. The trainings are scheduled ahead of the internal YCC regattas.
The events will be announced to all members, teams will be able to sign up together to train as a team. Participation is foreseen for both dinghies and keelboats.
Before each regatta, the race committee publishes a Notice of Race (NoR) and Sailing Instructions (SI) for all skippers and crews to read. These important documents help everyone to be clear about how the regatta will be run, including start time, start sequences, the course to be sailed and other key information. Sailing Instructions often refer to important information in the The Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-2028.
Racing tactics and strategy are critical to successful regatta participation. We strongly encourage crews to train together in preparation for a regatta. Aside from being fun, training together is an excellent way to improve teamwork, boat handling skills, race tactics, and to practice against other boats.
Each year, there is the chance to participate in the epic, single-handed Translémanique en Solitaire race. If selected, the skipper must prepare the boat beforehand and give a post-race debrief to the club.
Interested candidates should email the Committee at club-yachting-committee@cern.ch to request approval to participate in this unique race.
